Bloom, Lucille G., of Racine, WI
Bloom, Lucille G., 93, of Racine, Wisconsin, formerly of River Forest , Illinois, passed away on December 26, 2014, in Phoenix, Arizona. She was the loving daughter of the late Irving and Rose Atlas and the dear sister of the late Douglas Atlas. Lucille was a talented musician who studied classical piano at The Juilliard School after World War II. When she returned to Chicago, she met and married Dr. Charles Bloom who never tired of hearing her play Chopin Nocturnes or Beethoven Sonatas during their 57 years of marriage. In addition to music, Lucille was an outstanding cook, famous for her gefilte fish, challah, mandel brot, matzoh ball soup and holiday fruitcakes. She also enjoyed spending hours in her garden tending to her roses. Lucille was a lovely woman with her signature blonde chignon and hair bow to match each outfit. After her husband’s death in 2006, she moved to Racine to be closer to family. She was the devoted mother of Dr. Irving (Catherine) , Eileen (Dr. Marvin Siegel), Theodore (Ting-Ting) and Dr. Joshua (Rebecca Bissi) Bloom, cherished grandmother of Noah, Juliana (Kayvan Rezaiezadeh), Rachel and Sarah Bloom, Dr. Andrew, Eric and Zachary Siegel, and special aunt of Jane Atlas and Deborah Baker. Lucille will be missed, remembered and loved by all those whose lives she touched.
