Feinstein, Edward of Silver Spring, Maryland
Edward Feinstein of Silver Spring, MD, passed away on Feb. 25, 2021 of Covid-19. Beloved son of the late Lillian and the late Alfred Feinstein; loving husband of Joanne Diamond; devoted father of Amanda, Philip and Ethan (Claire) Feinstein; cherished grandfather of Christopher Barzola (Adriana Rodriguez), Brandon Chevez, and the late Jocelyn Feinstein; adored brother of Andrew (Jane) Feinstein and Rebecca (Eric) Goold. A proud South Sider, Eddie was a graduate of Horace Mann Elementary School and South Shore High School. After graduating from the University of Tulsa, he became a petroleum engineer for the U.S. Department of Energy. He continued in his field with the Federal Power Commission, and was Chief of the Depreciation Branch of Gas Pipeline Rates for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. After retiring from the government, he became Vice President of Brown, Williams, Moorhead & Quinn, Inc., a nationally recognized energy consulting firm. Eddie was a lifelong fan of the White Sox and the Bears, a lifetime member of the Field Museum since the age of 12 where as a teenager he helped construct their dinosaur exhibit. He was a true aficionado of all things Chicago. He loved participating in sports, especially baseball, which he played since childhood and until his death played first and third base in the Ponce de Leon Baseball League. He was a QuickDraw artist and an expert on the Old West. A respected and loved man of many interests and artistic talents. Services and interment at Zion Gardens are private. A celebration of Eddie’s life will be scheduled when it is safe to do so. Remembrances may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the charity of choice.
