Marilyn Friedman, age 89; beloved wife of the late Lawrence Samuel Robbins; loving mother of Marc (Stace) Robbins, Steve (Anne Leserman) Robbins, and Julie (John) Burger; proud grandmother of Jonathan Robbins, Abigail (Jared) Harmon, Leah Burger, and John Lorry Burger; devoted sister of Robert D. (Rosemary) Goldstine and the late Muriel Feinstein. Loyal wife of 32 years of the late Samuel Friedman. Marilyn was proud of being a teacher for 34 years, in both Oak Lawn (District 123) and Nelson School (District 63) in Niles. She helped found and held many roles in the North Shore Hadassah group mentoring young women as they took on new and challenging leadership roles in the organization. She worked as a volunteer in the Highland Park Hospital gift shop for 17 years. Marilyn loved needlepointing, playing piano, mahjong, and reading. She had spirit and vitality. Her energy, curiosity about the world, and dedication to her family and friends will be missed. Graveside services day, M.
